Ahora, un peri\u00f3dico de Taiw\u00e1n ha publicado un art\u00edculo en el que aseguran que NVIDIA Ampere ser\u00e1 un 50% m\u00e1s potente y consumir\u00e1 la mitad que Turing, la actual generaci\u00f3n de gr\u00e1ficas de la marca.<\/p>\n<p>Por el momento todo es mera especulaci\u00f3n, pero en teor\u00eda NVIDIA presentar\u00e1 oficialmente su pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de tarjetas gr\u00e1ficas hacia la segunda mitad del presente a\u00f1o, as\u00ed que todav\u00eda falta bastante tiempo para ello. No obstante, entre filtraciones y rumores, no cabe duda de que est\u00e1n dando de qu\u00e9 hablar, y m\u00e1s si ya est\u00e1n empezando a aparecer cifras concretas como es el caso.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1s potencia y menos consumo, pero \u00bfcu\u00e1nto?<br \/>M\u00e1s potencia y menor consumo es siempre el objetivo de los fabricantes de tarjetas gr\u00e1ficas, o al menos mayor eficiencia energ\u00e9tica. Y en este caso no est\u00e1n hablando de eficiencia (que viene a ser mayor rendimiento consumiendo lo mismo), sino que hablan de que el consumo el\u00e9ctrico de Ampere se reducir\u00e1 a la mitad de lo que consume Turing, algo que repercutir\u00eda ya no solo en la factura el\u00e9ctrica sino tambi\u00e9n en las temperaturas de funcionamiento, lo que a su vez dar\u00eda un mayor margen de Overclock o, en su defecto, de lanzar gr\u00e1ficas con unas frecuencias mucho m\u00e1s elevadas (o ambas cosas, claro).<\/p>\n<p>Con los tiempos que corren, parece desmesurada esta afirmaci\u00f3n de que la pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de gr\u00e1ficas consumir\u00e1 la mitad, m\u00e1xime cuando tambi\u00e9n hablan de un incremento de rendimiento del 50%, lo cual es much\u00edsimo para tratarse de dos generaciones consecutivas.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, este incremento de rendimiento del 50% no es imposible gracias a las mejoras en el proceso de fabricaci\u00f3n de TSMC a 7 nm. Si nos ce\u00f1imos solo a la densidad, NVIDIA puede extraer ese 50% de incremento de rendimiento debido al uso de un nodo m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, pero seguramente sea m\u00e1s bien a una combinaci\u00f3n de eso y a la nueva arquitectura que Ampere traer\u00e1 bajo el brazo. Esta combinaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n ayudar\u00e1 a reducir el consumo, obviamente, aunque esa cifra de cortar el consumo a la mitad nos sigue pareciendo un poco exagerada.<\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e9 traer\u00e1 de nuevo Ampere<br \/>Ya hemos comentado que Ampere utilizar\u00e1 el nuevo nodo de fabricaci\u00f3n EUV a 7 nm de TSMC, lo cual supone un mejor rendimiento y menor consumo o, como ya hemos mencionado, mejor eficiencia energ\u00e9tica como poco. Pero tambi\u00e9n traer\u00e1 consigo una nueva arquitectura, de la que poco se conoce de momento, pero que a buen seguro estar\u00e1 orientada a mejorar el rendimiento. Ahora bien, no se sabe si estas mejoras de rendimiento se centrar\u00e1n tan solo en el trazado de rayos, \u00e1mbito en el que Turing se resiente bastante, o si ser\u00e1 rendimiento en general.<\/p>\n<p>En cualquier caso, como siempre decimos, de momento tan solo estamos manejando rumores, suposiciones y en algunos casos filtraciones, as\u00ed que no podemos dar nada por sentado hasta que NVIDIA no realice el anuncio oficial correspondiente. Recordemos adem\u00e1s que NVIDIA no ha anunciado ning\u00fan plan para el CES 2020 que ser\u00e1 dentro de unos d\u00edas, as\u00ed que no se espera ning\u00fan anuncio relativo a Ampere de
