Y, si bien Ampere utiliza el nodo de fabricaci\u00f3n a 8 nm de Samsung, se prev\u00e9 que NVIDIA pegue el \u00absalto\u00bb a los&nbsp;<strong>7 nm el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o<\/strong>, muy probablemente de la mano de&nbsp;<strong>TSMC<\/strong>. \u00bfEs entonces Ampere una generaci\u00f3n de transici\u00f3n?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pesar de que NVIDIA tiene la&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/marcas\/nvidia\/nvidia-ampere-ga100-gpu\/\">GPU GA100<\/a>, fabricada por TSMC a 7 nm, la nueva generaci\u00f3n de la marca ha llegado al mercado bajo el abrigo de los 8 nm de Samsung, un proceso que si bien s\u00ed que supone un avance con respecto a la generaci\u00f3n pasada, no deja de ser inferior al m\u00e1s avanzado nodo de 7 nm que es capaz de ofrecer TSMC, entregando una te\u00f3rica mejora en t\u00e9rminos de rendimiento y eficiencia energ\u00e9tica bastante notable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfTendremos NVIDIA Ampere a 7 nm, o ser\u00e1 Hopper?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La primera pregunta que nos hacemos a tenor de esta informaci\u00f3n es si NVIDIA lanzar\u00e1 una especie de \u00abAmpere refresh\u00bb con GPUs a 7 nm. Es algo inevitable y que tiene mucho fundamento si tenemos en cuenta ya no solo los rumores, sino el hecho de que NVIDIA ya ha ense\u00f1ado su GA100 fabricada por TSMC con la mencionada litograf\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/app\/uploads-hardzone.es\/2020\/05\/NVIDIA-GA100.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-417691\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Medios de Taiw\u00e1n aseguran que NVIDIA ya est\u00e1 realizando pedidos a TSMC de cara a 2021, y obviamente estos pedidos son para la litograf\u00eda a 7 nm del fabricante. Ahora la pregunta es si estas GPUs a 7 nm de los de verde estar\u00e1n orientados a un refresco de su actual generaci\u00f3n Ampere, dejando a las actuales RTX 3090, 3080, 3070 y sucesivas anticuadas solo un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s de su lanzamiento, o si bien ser\u00e1 para trabajar en la pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de tarjetas gr\u00e1ficas,&nbsp;<strong>Hopper<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por supuesto, esta acci\u00f3n de hacer un pedido de chips para el a\u00f1o que viene tiene sus motivos. Por un lado, evitar\u00eda en gran medida la escasez de chips que est\u00e1 sufriendo NVIDIA en la actualidad, si bien ellos mismos han afirmado que esto es porque no han previsto adecuadamente el volumen de demanda y no estaban listos para tal volumen de pedidos. Por otro lado, se garantizan mucho margen de maniobra en la fabricaci\u00f3n de su pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de tarjetas gr\u00e1ficas, sea NVIDIA Hopper a 7 nm o sea un \u00abAmpere refresh\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/app\/uploads-hardzone.es\/2020\/09\/NVIDIA-RTX-3090-RTX-3080-RTX-3070-Ampere.jpg\" alt=\"NVIDIA-RTX-3090,-RTX-3080,-RTX-3070-Ampere\" class=\"wp-image-484180\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>El hecho es que si esta informaci\u00f3n resulta ser verdad, podr\u00eda resultar una \u00abmuerte\u00bb prematura para las actuales tarjetas gr\u00e1ficas RTX 3000 Series de la marca, d\u00e1ndoles tan solo un a\u00f1o de vida desde su lanzamiento, y esto puede ser algo que no le siente demasiado bien a los usuarios que est\u00e1n adquiri\u00e9ndolas justo ahora o que las tienen reservadas. Recordemos adem\u00e1s que la propia NVIDIA ha dicho que no espera restablecer el stock hasta principios de 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque todav\u00eda no hay detalles al respecto, muchos medios -como la fuente de esta informaci\u00f3n que ten\u00e9is enlazada m\u00e1s abajo- dan por hecho que NVIDIA utilizar\u00eda esta litograf\u00eda TSMC a 7 nm para lanzar las variantes SUPER de la generaci\u00f3n RTX 3000 actual, algo que s\u00ed podr\u00eda tener m\u00e1s sentido que una renovaci\u00f3n de Ampere o incluso que las RTX 4000 Series de arquitectura Hopper dado el poco tiempo que falta para ese momento.
