{"id":26650,"date":"2021-01-07T18:24:11","date_gmt":"2021-01-08T00:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/goldenti.com\/site\/?p=26650"},"modified":"2021-01-07T18:24:13","modified_gmt":"2021-01-08T00:24:13","slug":"las-nuevas-cpu-amd-epyc-milan-barren-a-intel-asi-de-potente-es-zen-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goldenti.com\/site\/las-nuevas-cpu-amd-epyc-milan-barren-a-intel-asi-de-potente-es-zen-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Las nuevas CPU AMD EPYC Milan barren a Intel: as\u00ed de potente es Zen 3"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/app\/uploads-hardzone.es\/2021\/01\/Portada-Epyc-Milan.jpg\" alt=\"AMD EPYC Rome Milan\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>AMD le falta lanzar sus procesadores AMD Zen 3 para servidores, los cuales tienen el nombre en clave de EPYC Milan, despu\u00e9s del enorme \u00e9xito de estos procesadores que le han dado presencia a AMD en un mercado donde hace unos a\u00f1os era completamente nula, ahora nos encontramos a la espera del AMD EPYC Milan del que ya conocemos su rendimiento gracias a Geekbench 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con las CPUs basadas en Zen 3 para escritorio en el mercado, y la inminente presentaci\u00f3n de los de port\u00e1til, a AMD a\u00fan le quedan dos familias de CPUs para renovar la gama: EPYC y Threadripper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En servidores su apuesta son los AMD EPYC, los cuales se distinguen por tener como nombres en clave a ciudades italianas, si el EPYC Rome se basaba en Zen 2, EPYC Milan se basa en&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/tutoriales\/rendimiento\/arquitectura-cpu-amd-zen-3-caracteristicas\/\">Zen 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rendimiento del EPYC Milan en Geekbench 4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/app\/uploads-hardzone.es\/2021\/01\/Benchmarks-Epyc-Milan.jpg\" alt=\"Benchmarks EPYC Milan\" class=\"wp-image-545791\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La CPU con la que se han realizado las pruebas de rendimiento en Geekbench es la&nbsp;<strong>EPYC 7543<\/strong>, la cual tiene una configuraci\u00f3n de&nbsp;<strong>32 n\u00facleos y 64 hilos<\/strong>, por lo que estamos hablando de una configuraci\u00f3n de&nbsp;<strong>4 CCDs o Chiplets<\/strong>, y por tanto no estamos ante la configuraci\u00f3n m\u00e1xima, ya que EPYC Milan al igual que su predecesor EPYC Rome soporta 8 CCDs o&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/tutoriales\/rendimiento\/chiplets-ventaja-problema-cpu\/\">Chiplets<\/a>&nbsp;y por tanto hasta 64 n\u00facleos y 129 hilos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El EPYC 7543 es un procesador con una&nbsp;<strong>velocidad base de 2.8 GHz y una frecuencia de boost de 3.7 GHZ<\/strong>. Cada n\u00facleo Zen 3 dispone de 3<strong>2 KB de cache L1 de datos y 32 KB de instrucciones y 512 KB de cache L2<\/strong>. En cuanto a la&nbsp;<strong>cache L3 es de 64 MB por chiplet o CCD<\/strong>, por lo que hablamos de 256 MB para este nivel de cache en total para la configuraci\u00f3n de 32 n\u00facleos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Geekbench 4, en la prueba de un solo n\u00facleo el resultado obtenido por el EPYC Milan de 32 n\u00facleos ha sido de<strong>&nbsp;6065 puntos<\/strong>, mientras que en la prueba de rendimiento para varios n\u00facleos el resultado ha sido de&nbsp;<strong>111379 puntos<\/strong>. Esto es m\u00e1s que suficiente para que el EPYC Milan supere por mucho no a un solo Xeon Platinum 8280 Cascade Lake de 28 n\u00facleos, sino a dos de ellos funcionando al mismo tiempo y en paralelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La evoluci\u00f3n de EPYC Rome a EPYC Milan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/app\/uploads-hardzone.es\/2021\/01\/AMD-EPYC-Rome-Milan-Render.jpg\" alt=\"AMD EPYC Rome Milan Render\" class=\"wp-image-545797\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Al igual que ocurre con los AMD Ryzen 5000 en diversas formas, los cambios de han producido especialmente en los n\u00facleos de la CPU, es decir: en los CCD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En cuanto al IOD que integra el Northbridge, encargado del acceso a memoria y la intercomunicaci\u00f3n de los diferentes CCD, y el Southbridge no hay apenas cambios mayores respecto a Rome donde se mantiene la misma configuraci\u00f3n y el mismo tipo de IOD, por lo que a no ser que AMD haya hecho alg\u00fan cambio est\u00e9tico en la organizaci\u00f3n del procesador, a simple vista EPYC Milan deber\u00eda verse igual que EPYC Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AMD puede a\u00f1adir cambios adicionales en el IOD de EPYC Milan, como es el soporte para una mayor cantidad de GPUs AMD CDNA para centros de datos a trav\u00e9s de una mayor cantidad de interfaces xGMI o el soporte para RAM DDR4 con mayor velocidad que las que soportaba EPYC Rome<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AMD reinar\u00e1 en servidores durante unos meses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hardzone.es\/app\/uploads-hardzone.es\/2020\/09\/DataCenter3.jpg\" alt=\"Data Center\" class=\"wp-image-482596\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La siguiente generaci\u00f3n de los Intel Xeon aparecer\u00e1 cuando lancen los que se basan en la arquitectura Sapphire Rapids, hasta ese momento AMD disfrutar\u00e1 de estar en la cima del rendimiento en cuanto a servidores de todo tipo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos procesadores no se venden al p\u00fablico de manera directa sino que vienen de importantes contratos con varias empresas, para AMD colocar sus procesadores EPYC es un Caballo de Troya para que AMD pueda ofrecer sus GPUs RDNA y\/o CDNA e incluso la tecnolog\u00eda de la reci\u00e9n comprada Xilinx a sus clientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfTendr\u00e1 tiempo Intel a responder o antes de lo esperado veremos una nueva generaci\u00f3n de los AMD EPYC basada en el rumoreado Zen 3+? Quien sabe, por el momento estamos expectantes a la presentaci\u00f3n de los EPYC Milan que no deber\u00eda estar muy lejana en el tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fuente:<\/strong>
